NorCal?

So when I used to live in AZ I could find just about any snake I wanted any day of the summer. I moved to North Cali a few years ago into the mountains, and now it's extremely difficult to find any sort of snake. Even if I walk for miles..

Though about a year ago I had an AMAZING find, a rubber boa(though I only have ONE pic of it left..lost the others). I was so proud of that. Other than that I find yellow bellied racers and red sided garters if I spend quite a bit of time outside. Blue tailed lizards are actually pretty rare here compared to the fence lizards. My girlfriend says she SAW a GREEN sort of skink a few weeks ago(shiny, and slimy looking green lizard?). I don't know what kind of lizard that is, but maybe someone can tell me if that is enough info on what it looks like, lol. She also saw a very nice black kingsnake the other day but then again she didn't take a pic and I couldn't see it for myself. She said it was about 4 feet long.

Anyway, anyone else live in Northern California? Show and tell me what you find out here. Maybe tell me where to look.
