Variable king photos to share

Just a couple shots of our '02 female variable, bred by Annette from Wapped Up in Reptiles. She is a lovely little snake, still retaining some of the reddish brown color, but becoming more grey as she grows.

Still trying to learn the new camera and keep her still long enough to get photos!

Hi quakezombie,

She is pretty close to that color, but she is still very small and the color may dilute to orange as she grows. I really want a peach phase one with the narrow saddles. They are a great snake because of the variation - I would love to breed them just for the fun of seeing what will hatch out. Great personalities in them too - we have a mex mex also and both are very gentle, tolerant snakes,

Do you keep any brooksi? I find the south floridas to be so calm. How would the variables compare?

I need to find a male now.I dont care which really. Although melanistic would be tough to tell quality versus say that of another milk or even leonis.

Here is the girl that got me hooked on em.

Cranwell - we had one brooksi, a female also, and I find the variables are at least as gentle, but our florida was quite hyper when first picked up, though she did settle down. The variables we have are more like corns in their movement, slower, seem less interested in escape and more likely to investigate. The brooksi was faster and more interested in getting away from being handled. That is only based on a few individuals though. The variables are quite a bit smaller than floridas from what I know, too - though maybe someone with a bit more experience can respond.

What a doll baby! Whether the red stays that true or becomes more orange, it will be very attractive next to the gray either way. It's nice when it's a win-win situation like that.
