Re: i need glass runners for 1/4" glass?
have you thought of wood molding? or using a table saw set shallow to cut grooves into wood?
another option, it's even cheaper, frame the front like a window and put hinges on it, then a latch on the other end.
Or make the front solid with a hinged top (Like I do)

Im thinking i might build doors like you said infernalis but i really like the clean look of the sliding glass.
the only problem with using 2 U channels parallel to each other is mounting the glass inside them while sitting in the frame, i would need to put the glass in then glue them in place which would make it so i could not remove the glass later for what ever reason, i stopped by a shop today and they had somthing that might work, u channel but one side of the channel is slightly shorter than the other which would make it work. im shock how hard it it to find the proper stuff locally :P not a big seller im guessing.

Re: i need glass runners for 1/4" glass?
for some reason all the places around here dont carry it anymore, i checked 2 rona's and 2 home depots, i called at least 7 some what local glass shops within 30 min or so from home and nothing. i think their is a home hardware around here somewhere im going to search for one now.I got my cage together now,I just need to find those tracks to install my glass and vents for air flow and pop wheels on and get some heat cord and "bella" is moving in.

Re: i need glass runners for 1/4" glass?
oh i finally got mine from the same place i got my plexi glass from for my toher cage a couple years ago, try a plastic shop not a glass shop and it should work. i finished my cage the other day 4x4 x 30" tall wood grain mallemine with 2 sliding glass doors. ill take a pic tomorow after work and try to post it asap to show it off a little :P, the plasitc shop i went to had glass track with rollers and steel track for 12$ foot for hardwear which was the cheepest i seen but still over kill being the reg plastic track i got was 8$ for a 6 foot length. I told him how hard it was to find so he ordered it in for me.
