Personally I have seen examples that could be perceived as yes and no.
Some mothers will eat the young just like any meal, others give the impression of nurturing.
Considering that many mothers will lay a clutch then move on, I'd say NO.
Some mothers will bear live young and move on as soon as they can.
Captivity vs. wild plays a major role too.
