List of Toxic Material

Hey, I've been trying to find a list of materials which are toxic to ball pythons but all I could find was cedar and pine which I already know because it's mentioned everywhere.. Anyways, hopefully some of you could answer this for me THANKS ALOT!

Re: List of Toxic Material

Are you asking about bedding or building materials??

Whenever possible, I feed my snakes outside of the enclosures to prevent ingestion of bedding.

cedar and uncured silicone. Your best bet is to build your enclosure out of melamine and plexi, because it will hold humidity better. If you use lumber of other kinds, make sure it is untreated wood. Some of the treatments they use to make wood hold up to weather can leach out a bit. You can use silicone to seal corners, but make sure it is fully cured and turn the heat lamps on for a day or so with doors open before adding the snake. The heat will draw the rest of the fumes out so that the cage is ok by the time you put the snake in.
