DIY Misting/Rain/Waterfall?

so with my BRB i usually mist him a couple times a day and get the humidity up to 80-90% but many weekends i am away so im looking to build a rain or misting system or a waterfall, i have a small pump that does 68 US GPH and some tubing to fit it, my question is do you have any tips, sites, or schematics (i had to say it) that could help me achieve this? it will be rigged to a timer for intervals to turn on and off throughout the two days i am not there. any suggestions are welcomed, THANKS IN ADVANCE!!

Re: DIY Misting/Rain/Waterfall?

My fiance and I bought a MistKing system to mist the two GTPs, the ETB and the PRB, and the Cuban knight anoles (which I'm selling if anyone is interested). It wasn't cheap, but it works wonderfully. You can also get a HabbaMist for around $50. The MistKing came with a programmable timer, so we have it set to mist for 30 seconds every 4 hours from 8am to 8pm and once again at midnight. Everyone seems to be doing well on this setup. I also have a humidifier I'm running in the room during the winter months, as it gets so dry otherwise in the room.

March 2010 Reptile magazine has a article called "8 Musts For A Great Misting System". Great article! Wheather buying or making your own this will help you do it right. It has a break down showing what all you need for a good system.

Re: DIY Misting/Rain/Waterfall?

i have a 10L resevoir with the pump sitting in it and a line out of the resevoir, the line connects to bubble tubing which makes the "rain", i now however need a timer that will switch on for intervals of 1 minute or less. are there any such timers?

why not adjust the ventilation and use a moisture retaining substrate so that you wont have to mist as often and you can leave for a few days knowing that your snake will be fine?

the ventilation in the tank or the room? i have potting soil with a layer of sphagnum moss over top, but my hygrometer usually drops off after a few hours after misting. is that alright cause ive had problems with the hygros before lol
