Funny Question

What does it mean when a BP yawns (for a lack of a better word). I've seen her do it a few times when I handle her and was just wondering. It looks just like a yawn. Her head and body don't move, just her mouth opens right up then closes.

Re: Funny Question

Most often this is rehinging the jaws after eating, and sometimes just stretching the muscles. A lot of my snakes do it right after eating, and I've seen them do it a few times when they are preparing to eat, i.e. when they see me begin feeding.

Re: Funny Question

Yeeh, I am pretty new too snakes(hmm 4 days?). However i just fed my ball for the first time, and after striking the prey he slithered around and "yawned" a few times before devouring his prey. Just as I do before I eat a large sandwiche or possibly a large burger!
