Re: Hey Willow
Lol. That definitely got my attention. I was thinking, "uh-oh what did I do?"...lol. Carpets IMO are pretty easy to care for. They need about the same humidity levels as BPs. (60%) or so, more when shedding. I make them scorched PVC perches, as they are semi-arboreal snakes, and all the ones I have make good use of their perches, especially at night. They do require more room than a BP, but an adult jungle or irian jaya can be in a 50-gallon. Usually 4'x2'x2' is the recommended cage size for an adult carpet. Give them a big water dish as they will soak. I mist mine for a few seconds every morning, but other than that I don't do anything extra for humidity and they all shed perfectly every time. They aren't too expensive. I paid $125 for my adult coastal Voodoo, $125 for my yearling jungle/jag sib High Voltage (who's awesome black and highlighter yellow), and $100 apiece for my 3 baby coastals. I would honestly recommend you check with Mike Curtin. I have gotten a few gorgeous snakes from him, and his animals are all in great health and eat f/t and his prices are good. He's on Fauna as captnemo. I love carpets, by far my favorite python.
