zilla digital thermometer

Looking for a decent digital gauge. I've only had my BP a couple weeks so far. She has eaten and seems quite comfortable in her new surroundings. However I really want to make sure I'm getting a good reading for both temperature and humidity. The Zilla is the best they have at stores near me. Are they worth $20 a piece or should I be looking for something else. I was looking a an infrared thermometer that I could order online or drive a bit to find. Is it worth it? Trying not to waste money replacing crap equipment. Thanks

Shawn

Re: zilla digital thermometer

You might get better quality with an Acu-Rite digital thermometer/hygrometer (indoor/outdoor). It's a bit more, but I've seen that (too often) prices go up & quality goes down when something is made "especially for reptiles."

Another option that quite a few people like is a temperature gun, but you'd still need a hygrometer.

I'm really glad you're making an effort to get the proper equipment to take proper care of your BP--your snake will stay much healthier! Good for you!
