Help with pythons

Ok I need some advice. I noticed yesterday that my two african rock babies have little marks on them. The closest I can compare them to is pimples. I do not see any mites or ticks on them but just in case I am going to use the NIX treatment. I have never seen anything like this. Any suggestions would be great. Before anyone asks I have them in plastic sweaterboxes, aspen bedding, hide box, water bowls. The room is kept at 82 degrees with undertank heaters for a warmer spot. Both are in own container. Anyone? Thanks.

How humid is your enclosure? How hot is the hot spot? It could be an abcess due to too wet conditions.

Re: Help with pythons

Sounds like blister disease potentially due to conditions being too wet or too dirty.
Where are these "marks" located on the snakes? On their bellies?
Hope you have a LOT of large Boid experience already as well as you WILL have your hands FULL with Rock Pythons.
They are some of the largest MOST agressive Boids afterall.
Hope you are prepared for what you are in for as they won;t be in rubbermaids for very long & will need some huge enclosures sooner than later, Mark

Re: Help with pythons

No not blister I do not think at least. The marks are on top of snakes. I took them out of enclosure and tossed aspen put in newspaper and raised heat and humidity seems to be getting better. Have to watch them longer though. Have two burms male and female one is 12ft the other is 14ft so I know what I got myself into. Heard African Rocks can be aggressive but also know of two that are big babies but need to be worked with on a regular basis. Also have a friend that helps with big snakes when time to clean so thanks for concerns.

Re: Help with pythons

Hmm not sure then myself, as long as you are sure there are no mites.
Glad to hear you have experience with the larger Boids as well, Mark
