Nice! I'd never seen, or even really heard of, a Maurus boa before- very thick- bodied it would seem. Neat pattern. Don't mind Kmef07-he just wants everything to be a rainbow boa

(btw, Kyle, just kidding! )

Re: Maurus boa

Hey i love my brb. lol but no i really am not a huge fan of the colors they get as adults. i kinda like the colors of the maurus boa better as an adult. the brazilians dont have much of a difference in the color as adults its just a red color. but hopefully mine doesn't get as red and stays more brown like the maurus

Re: Maurus boa

Sometimes vibrant is wonderful, sometimes bold and bright is great, and sometimes subtle is beautiful--each has its place. I would get tired of it if everything were brightly colored. I love the subtly colored beauty of the desert--and the subtle beauty of Bagus' Maurus boas!

Re: Maurus boa

I agree with you Chu. I find all my snakes- the bright and the subtle- amazing and beautiful. There does need to be a balance. What really gets me with the rainbows, especially BRBs and PRBs though, is that they are fully nocturnal, so all that brilliance would never see the light of day in the wild- makes me wonder why they evolved to be so bright.

Re: Maurus boa

maybe for camo in the jungle. it is so wet there with water dropplets that shimmer like a prizm just like the brbs and prbs skin. so if it is hiding in leaves and just a little of it is showing then it just looks like water dropplets the are shining. just a thought no real evidence behind it.

Re: Maurus boa

Hmm, good possibility. And maybe with the moonlight flickering between the trees the circular patterns on their backs blend in. However and why ever they evolved the way they did, they are stunningly beautiful animals!
