Red-tailed boa x Brazilian rainbow boa hybrid
Hi everyone,
There is an ad on the craigslist for my area for a Red-tailed x brazilian rainbow boa hybrid. I had no idea this was possible, and am really curious as to what the snake looks like. The seller doesn't have any pictures, but I was wondering if anyone on here has one or has heard of one of these hybrids and could post a pic.

ask the seller for a pic. That would be an amazing snake and I was wondering the other night what one would look like and if it was even possible because i love my brb and i love red tails so I was wondering if it would be at all possible. let me know what you find out about that.

I asked the seller for a pic and he said he doesn't have any but I could come look at it. My fiance told me I'm not allowed to get another snake so don't go look at it. It sucks, because I'm really really curious...my female curiosity is piqued to the max.

Re: Red-tailed boa x Brazilian rainbow boa hybrid
haha. how much is he asking for it? I've done research on other forums and just because both are boas doesn't mean they can mate. their genus is not even the same so what the general concensus seems to be is even if you could get them to mate they probably won't produce viable offspring. but who knows stranger things have happened but they would be extremely expensive if there were such an animal because i looked for about 2 hours here at work and couldn't find anything.

He wants $130 for it. I'm still tempted to go look at it at least. He says it's eating tw0 f/t rats a week so it must be HUGE! He also can't spell worth a darn, so he could be mistaken about what it actually is..lol

Re: Red-tailed boa x Brazilian rainbow boa hybrid
ya he is a dumbass. and you can get a brazilian for 125 from a good breeder at a show so i wouldn't even consider talking to the guy anymore. he is a moron!!!!!!!!!! if he had such a snake it would be worth probably in the thousands because it would be one of a kind. depending on the size of the rats and the snake it could be eating 2 rats a week. but even a bigger brb is fine on one big rat a week and when they are big enough to eat a big rat then they should be fed once every two weeks. so ya complete moron just dont bother with it anymore. im not an expert but that sounds like a hoax. he is probably a rapist or something lol.

Re: Red-tailed boa x Brazilian rainbow boa hybrid
I highly doubt this snake is at all what it is claimed to be. If it is WHO bred it? When? Where are the pics? Wheres the posts on any forum in reguarsd to such? Why IF this super rare occurrance MAY have happened would it be at a giveaway price? Nothing here adds up at all.
Maybe it is a cross between a couple Boa locales of the Boa Constritor species, but NOT a cross between a rainbow & a BCI but rather 2 locales of BCIs or BCCs maybe as that is entirely possible & is done frequently depite either parent species being worth more as pure on their own. Mark

Yeah, I kind of figured, which is why I asked about it here.
