love is in the air ATB style
A little late in hte season but my atb are showing real interest and my wife found them locked up this morning she didnt know it for what it was and didnt get me up so no pics of that. But i have pics from the other night before going to bed that seemed like a good sign.
her head looks huge here but really it was a funny camera angle.

Re: love is in the air ATB style
Ha, I even thought about it but I wasn't sure. Do all boas bear live young?
The female is the garden, right? I love the solid colour ATBs myself but yours both look nice too..I'd love to see more pics of the 'happy' couple

Re: love is in the air ATB style
Yes, all boas bear live young- they are ovovivparous, meaning the eggs develop and hatch inside the female's body and the babies come out in thin, membranous sacs. All pythons are oviparous, meaning they lay eggs. That is one of the main distinctions between boas and pythons. Pythons also tend to have heat-sensing pits in their labials, while most boas do not, except for arboreals such as the ETB. The boas that do have heat pits have them between the labial scales while pythons have them within the labial scales. Just some interesting stuff I've picked up from lots and lots of snake research.

Re: love is in the air ATB style
with one more "i" between the v & the p (I know, it's a typo--they happen to all of us!)
It's really cool to see someone else loves all the technical stuff as much as I do!
