HELP!!! Lost ball python
So, today I lost my 7 month old ball python, Cuddles. I can't find her anywhere. It seems I have searched everywhere. I'm panicked and reeeallly sad. Any ideas where she might be?

Re: HELP!!! Lost ball python
Hiding! She got out of her nice enclosure and found a dark place to hide. Look behind books, under everything--in every small space, even the ones you don't think she could possibly fit into. Be careful moving things so you don't squash her accidentally, but move everything.
Is the room closed off, or could she be anywhere in the house? Do you have other animals (e.g., dogs, cats)? If you do, keep the dogs/cats locked up until you find your BP if you possibly can, especially the cats--they will kill snakes--and they are very good at it.
Describe your space or post photos of the room so we can help think of other possibilities. But from what I've read, often they don't go very far. Here's a trick I've heard can work--put a heating pad in the middle of the floor on low with a hide over it and water next to it. Lower the house temp a little to encourage her to seek the heat source. Next morning, check the hide--maybe you'll find her there!
Good luck!

Re: HELP!!! Lost ball python
is your house opened? maybe it got out. but if outside is cold, maybe it wont get out. where do you keep it?
i agree with chu'wuti. i might be looking for some heat source. try looking under some blanket if its in your room. maybe under the sofa. anything warm and dark is possible. also keep another pets out.

Re: HELP!!! Lost ball python
i really really hope you dont live in a apartment. especaily if they are hot water heated. the pipes that heat the appartment usualy have a nice big hole in the wall around them that the snake might have gone though... and maybe in another apartment. So i really really hope you dont live in one. Good luck on finding her.

Re: HELP!!! Lost ball python
Hi there!
Ok, stay calm. Remember that ball pythons can curl up very small. You should look in places that you think might be too small for Cuddles to hide in. Ball pythons normally like dark warm places to curl up and feel secure in.
When my bp escaped last week...or was it the week before? It doesn't matter, anyways, he managed to smash a glass lamp and a crystal vase to the ground. Look for anything that is moved slightly out of place or knocked over. It might give you a clue for an area to look in.
I hope you find Cuddles,
Kenny

I did find her. Thank you so much. Actually my boyfriend found her. She was in the closet, behind a box, less than a yard away from her enclosure, and we tore apart the entire room looking for her! I'm so happy she's back

HOORAY!!! I'm so glad you found her before something terrible happened. Hope you've gotten locking clips for her enclosure. Ask your BF to try to lift the top off or open the enclosure with it shut the way you leave it--if he can make even a 1/2" gap, she can get out. BPs are much stronger than many people realize.
