boa enclosure advice

I am thinkining seriously about getting a boa for my wife and I. We've had a corn for a few years and have really enjoyed him and after visiting a rescue organization to look at their Balls and not finding one we thought was suitable, we met a boa that we absolutely fell in love with.

So my first step has been thinking about building an enclosure for a larger snake. I have been thinking of converting a bedroom closet into an enclosure, multiple enclosures actually, but I have concerns that a closet might not be the best in terms of proper ventilation. The closet is 8 feet wide by 8 feet tall, and 18" deep. I was thinking of making a space 8'W x 3'H x 18"D. roughly 4' off the floor.

Does anyone have any experience with closet enclosures or have any feedback on such enclosures?

Thanks!

Re: boa enclosure advice

Is the closet on an inside wall? You might want a way to vent it. I'm assuming you've removed (or will be removing) the doors. What are you planning to use to enclose the space?

I've found vivariumforum.com to be very helpful for construction advice.

Good luck!

Re: boa enclosure advice

I turned a large closet into a snake room I vented it and put a AC duct going in with a extra filter.
