I finally got all the temps and humidity right and just everything is perfect in this aquarium. i have been trying for 2 months to get this cage right everyday trying to tweak something....i felt like it would never ever all come together and now if finally has it is such a freaking relief!!!! here is the basic set up. im sure everyone will have some imput about how i should change stuff and i would like to hear it cuz i want the best for my brb.
First up is the whole thing i just built the wood box to go over the lights it has a top covered by the towel to help block up the holes and also what you don't see is two 1.5 inch holes i drilled into the sides. one one each side one high and one low.

Second is a pic of the display end of the thermometers and the perfect humidity range and also the perfect temp for the sides of the cage. the hides are each 79 degrees on the inside and the hot spot is 97 in the middle and 94 on the outer side of the hot spot. that isn't displayed in the pic you just have to take my word for it.

third is the right 3/4ths of the cage with one hide that tilts up over one water dish that's water stays cool-(at night the infrared bulb is over this hide), the next to the right is a big water dish with a hide over it to provide the humid hide and also security in the water this water says warmer, and to the right of that is the climbing branch that is under the basking bulb.

fourth is the second part of the cage where my snake spends most of her time inside the bonsai tree. it sits under a flourscent light.

i use two automatic timers to turn the day and night lights on and off. at 930am and 930pm for a 12 hour cycle. i also have two UTH under the tank to help keep it warm and the humidity up.

sorry if this is over the top im just so excited this is the first time i haven't been thinking about this or worrying about this for 2 months. its an awesome relief.

the humidity instead of 76 is now 86 but i had that side of the cage open and i know there are a lot of water dropplets but it is what my snake drinks from a lot and it loves to rub against it.

Well it does look good but I do have a couple pointers.

1. Might not want heatpads on carpeting.Also a thermostat attached to them would work better than the basking lamps. Much easier for a snake that doesn't bask.

2. I would recommend smaller hides. Your snake is small and to make it feel more secure a smaller hide would work best.

good ideas. i planned on the thermostat, and i actually about ordered one but now the temp is staying just where i need it. i will need one for summer though becuase it will get about 5 degrees or more hotter in my house

Ur right on the hides thing. actually the tree one is really small it is really deep into the rocks on the backside and it is really low and is really secure but ya i will probably replace the one on the far left of the tank

ya i thought about it alot but it's nothing compared to the setup im building it is 5 months in the making and is 5 feet long by 4 feet high by 3 deep. i've finally gotten all the ideas down including a custom waterfall a rock creek, and a lot of custom rocks which i found out how to build with styrofoam and grout mix. i will get pics once i start building and i am getting materials together now. it will be amazing....at least it is on paper lol

I havent got far past the box I had to have surgery on one hand and it has slowed production down somwhat

Just be sure that any chemical product that you use will hold up to high temperatures, humidity and is safe for your snake.

yep already checked that it is safe for the snake. it actually calls for a sealant. but i have asked numerous people including a vet and my breeder and it is what is commonly found to seal grout. that is the same thing that is used for the bottom of some peoples cages.
