Jamp Eggs!
Pure 100% Jampea Retic eggs. 28 of them to be exact! And they came 10 days early!!!! She caught me WAY off gaurd so i didnt get any good shots of her sitting on them. Which i kick myself for and I had just gotten my incubator up and running the day before. She laid them on Martin Luther King day! This is my first retic breeding attemp BTW.

Re: Jamp Eggs!
thanks everyone.
the open tops?
Well, to be honest with you i have ONLY used hova-bators in the past. This year i bought this 26 bottle wine cooler and converted over. And with my hovas, i always used the open top method becuase i always utilized the water trough in the bottom. So when i put the eggs in the winecooler-bator, i did the same. The humidity is high, the temps are only .5 degrees differrence from the top to the bottm without a fan and all is right in my world.
I will keep yall posted on it tho!

Re: Jamp Eggs!
so i guess you have to keep overall humidity up in the entire incubator as opposed to each individual tub. is it hard to maintain that way? do you have to keep adding water to the egg tubs or does the moisture usually last for the entire incubation period?
and how bout some pics of mom and dad...

Re: Jamp Eggs!
exactly, and its not too bad to maitain really. I DO have to add water once a week or so. But im border line OCD and dont mind doing so.
ah pics!! they are both right around 13 ft.
heres mama:
here hes ovulating and you can see the papa there on the lefthand corner. Check out the color contract between the two. SHE's super light compared to him.

You were posting the pics as I wrote, so I'm lucky! Very nice looking couple. I like the enclosure, too. Congrats on the eggs!

Re: Jamp Eggs!
Ah, patience is required . . . at least you get to watch them! We can't even look at them.
I hope they're all good--lots of luck!

Re: Jamp Eggs!
well its been a full week since i put them in the incubator without the lids on the bins and have not added any water whats so ever and the humidity is maintaining in the mid 90%. The only draw back thus far is the condensation that builds on the glass front door.

Re: Jamp Eggs!
your incubator and setup look great but i think that if you were to put lids on the egg boxes you would eliminate the condensation on the incubator door and it would keep the humidity more stable within each egg box.
you may have to watch out for condensation in the egg boxes but looking at your incubator i dont see it happening any more than normal. you can probably even get away without lids and use only press and seal wrap to cover the boxes.
either way im sure it'll work out for you but i think if you where to seal the egg boxes you wont have to worry about the door condensation and you may not have to add any water to the boxes during the entire incubation period.

Re: Jamp Eggs!
i actually had to upgrade my incubator to a large coke cooler because the jamp eggs filled my wine cooler one and went to a closed bin system.
anyway, they started hatching 10 days early
fifteen of the 27 healthy eggs are out thus far and doing GREAT
