Whats the best kind of varnish to use? Are any toxic? I am using mellamine as a base for my homemade tank for corn how will i heat ?????

I don't know about how to heat melamine, but as for the varnish, look for "food safe" just like with caulk or silicone. Even if it's food safe, I would let it dry completely, two weeks or better, to get rid of that crappy odor. It reeks to me, let alone guys that live by their sense of smell.

Where are you using varnish? I had to get out of the wood enclosures (wood sucks) so I got vinyl floor tiles and a lot of time.
