Question Awkward Situation

I have a Ball Python nicknamed Cleopatra and I've had her for almost a year and a half. She's been eating every 6-7 days, but I've noticed that she occasionally climbs up to her lamp, wraps around it, and just sits there during the night. When the light goes on, I feel sorry for her because she must be in pain (considering the lamp is quite warm). Plus, it sometimes unscrews the lamp and the cage gets unheated for short periods of time.

Could she be waiting for the lamp to come on, or is she just trying to get a tan?

Re: Awkward Situation

The biggest concern is why is their a lamp within her cage that she can wrap around? You do know, if it's on and she's around it she can be severely burned. I recommend that you fix this quickly for the safety of the snake.
