i recently got 2 femail tokay geckos for 20 dollars i have bolth of them in a somewhat big cage 2ft x 2ft x 2ft and lots of stuff for them to climb on ohhh man there mean s.o.b. lol but what should i look out for? how much do i feed them? whjat should the temp and humidity be? stuff like that basic stuff any info would be great i read a book about them and read stuff on tha net but i want some owners to tell me how they have there set ups and stuff
I love tokay geckos! They are so pretty and so much fun! I haven't owned any but I worked a lot of them when I was working in a couple pet stores. I'm not exactly sure on their temps and humidity. Feeding wise, depends on how big they are. I would go with some crickets every couple of days. For two adults, probably a few dozen. Also try superworms, waxworms and silkworms.
You can attempt to tame them down but what I've heard from other keepers is that if they are kept in hugely large enclosures they settle down fine with not extra effort. For a small sized lizard they relish large space.
I kept a pair for years and as Aaron S said they like lots space they like to jump around and wall climb and such when they hunt. I kept the temps in the mid 80's mostly and around 75, 80% humidy they seemed comfortable. again Aaron S hit it spot on for there eating habbits the two of mine really really liked the super worms.
