Often for corns and other temperate species putting the eggs in an air tight container with slightly damp medium on top of a fridge or freezer keeps them in a perfect environment. Otherwise incubators are pretty easy to make, just something to hold heat. some way to heat it, a way to control the heat, and a way to monitor the temp. You can get a fairly reliable incubator by hovobator for about $40 too.

Basically all you really need to build one is a styrofoam cooler box, a heat pad, an indoor outdoor thermometer & a dimmer switch. Cooler insulates from hot & cold, heat pad provides the heat, dimmer switch is used to adjust the heat & the I/O thermometer measures the temps for you. You do not want them in an airtight container as air flow is required. If you were to Google incubators you will likely get tons of ideas. It doesn't need to be high tech all it needs to do is be able to hold a steady temp somewhere between 80-85F for yor Corn eggs would be good. The eggs themselves go into a small rubbermaid container with vent holes for air circulation & a damp incubation medium. Best choice for mediums is vermiculite & perelite (spellings?) both are used for plants & are available in gardening sections of stores. I find it best to have the eggs up on egg crate above the medium & not in direct contact with it. Egg crate is white plastic grid that is typically used for fluoresent lighting. If you have a warm snake or herp room you do not even need an incubator, but just use a cooler box & have the eggs in the rubbermaids with the medium etc. I incubate all my Corn/King eggs just in cooler boxes in my snake room with no fancy incubation setups. Remember in the wild the eggs are most likely just laid in compost heaps, a high tech incubator is not required. Mark
