thermometer choice

I was wondering what would be the better choice for a thermometer.

I can either get the P-1 infrared temperature gun for $25

or I can get a digital thermometer with probe for around $7 dollars. I would get two of this model one for the warm end and one for the cool end of the tank.

I only have one snake currently. Would the temp gun be a better choice, even if I have to constantly check to be aware of the temp in the tank?

Or would it make sense to have 2 thermometers in the tank, so I can check at a glance.

Thanks for answering my questions.

Re: thermometer choice

Generally I use my temp gun for getting basking spot temperatures (as they will measure surface temperatures) and have digital probes to measure air temps and hide temps, the combination works very well.
