Co-Habitation? Best "second snake"?

I have a 48x28x32 landscaped vivarium as the centrepiece of my living room, currently occupied by a 6 month old Brazilian Rainbow Boa (about 24" long) who is currently being 'socialized'. She is very pretty but seldom comes out of the hide in the daylight.

I am thinking of getting another snake, one that's easier to handle. I have looked at an Iran Jaya and I am going to look at a Ball tonight. Both snakes are a lot bigger than my BRB so the BRB would get moved to a smaller home and the bigger snake would get the big vivarium.

Then I wondered if a smaller snake, like a Corn, could share the vivarium with the BRB without one of them trying to eat the other? I have never tried co-habiting snakes before and have NO IDEA how or if snakes get along with each other

The IJ is attractive in that it would be the better "display snake" and probably spend more time out and about where people can see it but I suspect the Ball would be much more handle-able.

Thoughts? Ideas? Suggestions?

As far as housing any of them together goes scrap that idea totally. All snakes should be kept individually except for breeding purposes. As far as the enclosure goes: your BRB will eventually require one that big, a BP will not utilize that big of a space. An IJ would use the space in the big enclosure. As for BP Vs IJ a BP would be more handlable than an IJ but in the long run you may get more enjoyment out of an IJ. Just make sure the IJ is of good temperment prior purchase as they can sometimes be nippy, but are usually OK & only nippy as youngsters if at all. A Carpet Python is way cooler than a BP IMHO anyway, Mark

dont house any snakes together escpecially if they are 2 different kinds of snakes and i would go with a carpet python over ball python.

I figured that would be the case but thought I would ask the experienced people

I ended up with a Ball who's a real cuddler - exactly what I wanted.

Oh, my, with that penthouse of an enclosure, how could you possibly kick anyone out?!?!?

I would try to find out how to coax your beautiful brb out of hiding. It may just take time and getting another snake to fill it's space may be detrimental in the end.
