Another boa rescued
Hey guys, just thought I'd post about the boa I recently rescued. Typical son goes to college, leaves snake, parents call me because they dont want it anymore....... I have rescued a couple of boas now ( not including this recent one ) but nothing could have prepared me for this one. Upon going inot the tank to get her, she opened her mouth quite wide and proceeded to hiss loudly. I have never seen a boa do this in person before. I mean, this was like my gopher snake!!! Anyway, the snake was obviously never handled, however, they were feeding it. Adult mice and small rats. She is QUITE capable of handling a large rat. No problem . I guess the mother didnt like rats, even thought they were frozen. The physical health of the snake is immaculate, we are just trying to calm her down a bit and get her used to being handled. I am aware this will take a while. Another reason I am posting is to see if anyone can help me as to what kind she is, I am having a little trouble. Any guess is appreciated, although I'm sure some of you out there will not need to guess. I will try my best to cover every angle of her, although she is a grumpy girl, I do not want to stress her. Thanks guys

Re: Another boa rescued
Ok I cant resize my pics apparently. I resize them in my photo software, the upload manager does not recognize the re-size. I have no idea whatsoever what to do. Any help would be great.

Re: Another boa rescued
I'll be really impressed if any one can tell from these horrible pics. How can I resize without compromising quality? I am not experienced with this digital camera stuff. The orig. pics are super high quality.

Re: Another boa rescued
Looks almost like a ColombianRed Tail boa. But you can open the pictures up in paint . Go to images at the top then click streach/skew. and change the 100% to somthing smaller, Usually works pretty Well.

Re: Another boa rescued
Cheers for the advice... will try it out when I have time. I must post pics of my other boas on here, as I thought they were columbians, however they could not be any more different than this one. I am aware that they are pretty variable however this one is ten shades lighter than my other ones, and the tail differs immensely, in pattern and colour. Thanks again guys.
