Need ideas for 75g tank

Ok, looks like I'm getting a free 75g tank from my boss on Monday, and I'm trying to think of what to put in it. Right now, I'm really liking the idea of having one end water...like say...8 inches deep or so, and having gravel or whatever build up and have the other half of the tank be land for some sort of "rain foresty-reptile"... I'd have live plants, and all that, branches, etc..I'm thinking that a small submersible filter would be better than like a canister or other for the water side...

But what reptile could i put in a tank like this, besides turtles? Are there any lizards that would swim and go on the land/branches and stuff? Like i know iguanas in the wild will hang out on trees that overhang a river, and then just plop down into the water and swim around...but those would outgrow a 75 very quickly, right?

Or are there any snakes that would do good in there?

Actually i've been doing a bit of research on the net and that seems to be the most appealing to me right now I realize that it may need a bigger tank after a while, but he should be good in a regular 75 for a good amount of time, yeah? And i also could just build a pvc frame and put some of that screen around it to make the tank higher if i need...i've done that before w/great success.

So i'm thinking...On the right side....maybe about 1 and a half feet of water (not deep, just starting from the right side, going in about 1 and a half feet) and have it gradually grow up to land...maybe have the water 8 inches deep tops is what i'm thinking. I'd have a submersible filter (small one since its not a lot of water) and then a small powerhead in there...i'm thinking put a pipe from the powerhead going under the land area and have it come up on the other end (dry end) and make a "river" back to the main water.

CWD's can swim, right? Just making sure before i go all out on this lol. Dont wanna drown him.

Anyways...i'd have a larger branch hanging out over the water w/some sort of vine growing on it...anyone know of any cool looking viney plants that would do well in this type of tank?

Next...would one of those little "fogger machine" things benefit this at all? Like how you get that little bit of fog to hang just over the water? Just wondering, cuz the guy says the tank has one of those as well. I would think it would help keep the humidity higher, right?

Newts, Toads, Frogs, Salamanders. And possibly geckos? I think Any of the first 4 would love it in there.

I am personally leaning more along the lines of Raven. Amphibians would be great in there. I would think a colony of poison dart frogs would be really cool. I actually never cared for them so I am not totally sureof their requirements (whether they can be housed in colonies) but that would be really cool. LEt us know what you decide, Todd

before you totally decide on a wd...check out this website...I just did a google. search for dart frogs and found this. The guy has amazing tanks that look great. Caring for frogs . THat is the link. Check it out...Todd

I'm putting my vote for the poison dart frogs! With such an elaborate set up I'd stick with smaller animals so the clean up is easier. Also, smaller animals won't disturb the plants you placed in there aswell.

hell yea some dart frogs would be sweet or mabie some tokay geckoz

Mantella frogs would be nice too. Or red eye green trees. Tokays would be fairly tame in there if you had only a pair.
