Exclamation Hibernation Question

My python has not eaten in 1 1/2 months. It's drinking water on occassion and looks and acts very healthy. She lies in the warmer side of her atrium and doesn't move. Every day I take her out and put her in warm water in the bathtub for about a 1/2 hour and she seems to get a little active. Then if weather permits, I take her outside and let her slither through the yard for another 1/2 hour. Then she seems to get really hyper and active for a little bit. Afterwards I put her in the cage and she goes back to the same spot and just stays curled up. I have 2 thermometers and a hygrometer....so the temp on the warm side is 92-94 farenheit and her humidity fluctuates between the high 60's-70's.The coolest part of her tank is 70's-80's. So, I don't think heat or humidity has anything to do with it. She has a hide box, lg water bowl, and stump of log and I use indoor/outdoor carpet to line the bottom.
Now my question is: Do pythons hibernate in captivity? I know they do in the wild, however this is the only explanation I can come up with for the way she is acting. Because she usually eats very well and if she is hybernating...how long does it last? I try feeding her once a week anyway but, she still seems uninterested in food.
She weighs almost 1lb and is 2 3/4 inches long and I have had her since she was 6 inches long. I got her from some friends that found it in their backyard and they wanted to kill it and I said no that I would take her and I've had her since. She has shed every 4-6 wks up until a month and a half ago. Any advice, comments, constructional criticism, etc...would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Hibernation Question

I'm not sure if it's technically hibernation or they're metabolism just slows down, but yes it's VERY common to have a python not eat for many months. I have a 4 yr old ball python that virtually stops eating the entire winter. The first year I got him he ate every week until one day in Nov. he just stopped. I freaked out thinking he was sick but he never lost weight. Then one day 6 or 7 months later i got him to finally eat. As long as your snake isn't loosing body mass and doesn't appear to be sick (mites, stress, etc.) it will be fine.
Just try once every other week or so and (he/she?) will eat when he (or she) is ready.
