selling snakes

I was wondering if u need anything to sell youre snakes locally do I need a small buisness license? and do I need to file my income to the IRS? or can I just sell my snakes for 50$ around my town?

If you are just doing it as a hobby & not making much I wouldn't worry too mch, but both IRS & the CDN income tax folks consider ALL INCOME as taxable & thus by the letter of the law be claimed as income. Mind you the same would apply if you mowed the neighbours lawn for $10 or had a garage sale & made $100. Hardly worth their time & effort to pursue after you or anyone else for such minor income. If you start recv. a large amount of chqs or other "traceable" income you may want to consider talking to an accountant about things. Mark
