Lisa, I've got... 8 breeder males now, and 21 or so breeder females (some not producing yet - I've got about 12 females actively breeding or nursing now) - more males and females when some of the current hoppers and pinkies grow up and I decide who gets to stay. And, I want to get some more mice that are unrelated to the ones I already have for at least one or 2 of the empty bins.

Very nice set up Dawn. Is that bale of shavings the large flake aspen or is it pine? I used to have a great source of cheap aspen that came in bales like that, but they have gone out of business and I was wondering if there is some place in Saskatoon that stocks it?

Thanks,

Mary v.

Mary, yes, that's large flake aspen... I get it at the Early's on Lorne Ave (I don't think the other Early's would have it). The bales cost around $10 - $15 (can't remember off the top of my head!). Pressed bales from feed stores... can't beat 'em.

Thanks Dawn, I will stock up next time I am in town. Good luck with the mouse breeding -- great species to play with the genetics on.

take care,

Mary v.
