Post Question...

Hey I am new to having a snake. I recently bought a red eyed lavender king snake. It is only about a foot long. When I bought it the pet shop told me to feed it pinkie mice. I am just wondering how am I supposed to know when to switch to a bigger size? It is my first snake and I just want to make sure that I don't mess up. Any other helpful tips on raising a snake would be helpful. Thanks!

You can see how well the meals fill the snakes up by looking at the lump it leaves. The meal should be a little bit larger then the biggest part of the body, so it will leave a nice sized lump. When the lump becomes hardly visable after eating thats the best indication of when to increase.
