What happened to this forum?

This used to be the second largest reptile forum in the world. I didn’t sign on for quite sometime and I checked it today and there is virtually no activity. What happened here?

actually, it'll probably be up there for a few months lol. i havent seen any sign of DragnDrop lately. i really dont see why they dont strip all the old mods that dont visit the site anymore of their power and appoint members that actually visit the site as mods. but then again i doubt anyone even cares if there are mods or not.

on a side note, why does everyone make reptiles canada out to be such a great forum? what is the differnece between RC and ssnakess?

Ownership & support. Apparrently one site is now owned by Iguana Farmers & one isn't. Guess which one most herpers now support? Try & contact someone in reguards to either site & I think you will see even a bigger difference. One site is likely to respond promptly & the other well... Mark

i guess you guys have a point there. but if all thats true (which it is), then why does someone keep paying to keep this site up? if they want to keep it up you would think they would at least stop by every once in awhile and check on things. this site and its ownership really have me confused...

well SOMEONE must still be paying for this site or it would be shut down.

i dont want to join reptiles canada because im already on too many forums as it is and im not canadian lol. i joined sSnakeSs before i knew it was a primarily canadian site. dont get me wrong i have nothing against canadians lol, but i dont have enough time to join yet another forum. i just wish they would at least try to make a few improvements to sSnakeSs, but as you said, there basically is no admin or mods.

hmmm where did you get that info from? im not doubting you, it just doesnt make much sense in my opinion. why would a company like that want a reptile forum? and wouldnt they at least register and make a thread stating that they bought the site?

There were multiple things that happened back a while that actually led to the start of the other forum. The ownership changing hands as the previous post just mentioned (fact - discussed here & many other places during the change over, this is over a year or so ago) didn't sit right with folks & things have slid to where they are now. Personally animals are farmed all the time for lots of various reasons so I choose not to be too hypocritical (I eat meat & dairy & wear leather etc etc so who am I too say, better to farm than catch from the wild) & try to help folks here still & look & see whats up, Mark
