New here.....
Hello all!
I am new to this forum my name is Varinia I am married and have two daughters.
I have a small zoo so here I go ....
we have 9 dogs, 5 cockatiels, 1 prarie dog, my daughter has a cat, 1 hamster, 1 Quacker Parrot, and 10 sugar gliders I LOVE MY SUGGIES! and new to the family a ball python that came with his buddy Mr. Mouse (ahh you read that and think HIS BUDDY LOL)
my cousin bought a snake from a friend and gave it to my father (my parents live with me, hubby and kids because of my MS) well my husband took it over the snake came in a ten gallon tank with some bedding (yesterday news I think) and a mouse that seemed to make a house in there we just thought maybe he was in the middle of eating when he picked the snake up so we left it in there over night the next morning my husband calls from work to see if the snake has eaten of course I tell him no the mouse is just hanging out. I got the mouse out and put him in a hamster ball and was looking at him and what do you think I find the mouse is covered with MITES! my husband got home and removed the snake dumped everything out in the tank got a different tank set it up for the snake rock, water all the good stuff he did not have (he shedded the next day) and the mouse is now relocated away from all animals. I am taking the snake to my vet for a health check on Monday.
The people who had him said he is healthy and just went to the vet they said he got a shot but they didn't know for what and they say he eats good that is all we know so I am on here to hopefully learn more about snakes my father always had snakes when I was growing up but I never dealt with them over the years I sorta got spooked by them but I can learn to love him LOL so I will probably bombard the board with a million questions!
