i just got a baby common boa female and i was just wondering is it normal for her to stay under the bark i have put in the viv for her?she is only 12 inches long
You should definately have two hides. You need one on the warm side of the cage and one on the cold side. Since he is so small you can just cut a butter container or something in half and put a little hole in it for now.
Inactivity is normal. USUALLY, with boids, you bring them home, they're extremely active (basically checking out their enclosure) and then they hide. That's just what they do.
Our boa only comes out for food or when we're handling. Other than that, he stays in one of the two hides depending on when he last ate.
