a little help

i have a taiwan beauty(chinese ratsnake) ,and at first it was fairly easy to take him out of the tank but lately every time i get close to the tank he hides under a piece of bark, and the last time i tried to get him out from under it he bit me so i was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on some easier ways to take him out. this is my first snake so any advice is appreciated.

Also remember being a larger ratsnake that it can take quite large meals & will grow to 4-5 ft in the first year if being fed as it should be. If you aren't feeding it as much or as frequently as it would like to be that can have something to do with it. I had a large Taiwan Beauty that would bite everytime if hungry & be puppy dog tame if not. Also watch its shed cycles as larger rats can be very irritable when in shed sometimes. A snake hook is also a good idea & can be something as simple as a long paint roller handle. Mark

try http://www.slitheringserpents.com/bluebeautycare.htm for a caresheet on Vietnamese Blue Beauties. Their care is quite similar, Mark
