put the snake in a "rubbermade" then weigh the hole thing. then subtract the weight of the rubbermade & what u have left is the weight of the snake. if u r using a didgital scale place the rubbermade on tha scale then press the tare button (this will zero the scale) then just place the snake in the container. if u r using a fish scale puth the snake in a pillow case then weigh it.
hope this helps

i put my boas near a base board of a wall. they will usually stretch out along the wall and try to get away, but if your quick you can get an accurate measurement with a tape measure. another good way is to use with a legenth of string or wire to trace the back bone of your curled up ball, then measure the wire/string.

to weigh it . . . take it to the lps, buy a mail scale off e-bay, take it into a grocery store and use a produce scale (j/k) . . . just find a scale and use google to convert the weight in pounds to grams.

I measure all my snakes using the twine method. Bassically you get a long length of twine and then gently place it along the body of your snake and then measure how long the twine is. It's not the best method for aggressive snakes but hey it's a BP. I used it to measure all my snake including my 8 foot rock python.
