F/T or Live

I started feeding live and my snakes seems to enjoy it much more and they never miss.

Recently i switched to f/t and wanted to know if it is as healthy as live or prekilled?

What do you guys do f/t or live or prekilled?

The quality issue with purchased feeders is a valid one I think. Unless you know the source, you might never know how long they were frozen or how well they were raised. It is a problem for people that are concerned about it but you have to take it on faith I suppose. Seeking a reputable supplier is a good idea.
As for f/t versus live, well I am not going to comment, it has been a topic that has been gone over with a fine tooth comb in this forum. All I know is that I will never feed live. Just avoiding a possible (probable) vet bill alone makes it worthwhile not feeding live.

For years people believed that frozen foods had significantly diminished nutritional value. We now know that the decrease is negligible. (http://www.fsis.usda.gov/Fact_Sheets...ing/index.asp). Freezer burn is an esthetic issue, not a sdafety or nutrition issue. Frozen foods are very nearly as nutritious as fresh in general. Freezing can kill parasites that might otherwise affect your snakes. Freezing also makes it impossible for your prey items to fight back. In spite of what you might think, snakes dont "enjoy" hunting or killing food. They do it instinctively. Very few creatures in nature hunt or kill for fun. I believe it's just humans and chimps, although there may be a few more.

As far as I'm concerned, there are no pros to feeding live other than getting to watch a more natural behavior. That is not a "pro" for your snake...only for you. F/T feeding is better. Feed live as a last resort.

F/t. As for pros and cons, do a little research on your own, it'll be obvious enough.
