Puffing noise

About 2-3 months ago my better half heard my ball python making a strange noise. She described the noise as sounding like a dog trying to be sick. I was not here so I never heard it, but he has never done it again since. I have no idea if this has any relavance to my question but I thought I would throw it in just in case it helps.

Last week, I was sat in my room and heard him let off what I can only describe as a big puff of air. I went to have a look and he was making a funny wheezing noise, which lasted for a few minutes on and off. I have not heard him do it agin until tonight while sat here he just let off another big puff, but no wheezing this time.

My first idea is a respitory infection, but he is not showing any other signs of this. He only seems to do it now and again, and he seems to have control over when he does it if that makes any sense.

Any ideas would be much appreciated as I am starting to get a little concerned.

Kind regards

Adam

My Calabar python started doing that and I left it thinking that since no other signs were showing for a respiratory infection..there mustn't be one. She died about 3 weeks later. ( Im not saying that YOURS will have the same fate ) Id get your snake to a vet just to be on the safe side. I hope that it's nothing but who'd want to take chances right ?

Hmm, mine does that too, now I'm scared it's an RI... but I described the noise to my vet, and she did check him for an RI, and there wasn't one. He still makes that noise though... only seems to me to be when he's out of his tank and being handled, I thought maybe it was something environmental triggering it?
