I've moved this from the General Discussion forum. You'll probably get more replies here where people who know hognoses hang out, than in the general forum.

If it is started on pinkies already then you will have little trouble......if not here is a tip, catch some juvie frogs to feed it in the mean time......then start rubbing the pinkies on a live frog to transfer the scent......each time you feed rub the pinky less and less....it will then start to cross over to pinkies......otherwise you will probably have to freeze up some frogs to winter it on. Hope this helps.......

Depends on the hognose. Is it North American? If so, is it Eastern or Western? Easterns are toad eaters ONLY! Westerns do fine on rodents but sometimes have to be started on scented prey items.

As far as handling goes, just handle it gently and try not to make quick movements in order to not startle it. If is isn't eating yet, do not handle it until it eats regularly. Keep handling to a minimum for the first few weeks so it gets used to you and not stress out.
