Well ..... I'm a diehard Nikon fan. I have quite a few Nikon cameras, my favorite being the D70. For these photos I used a Nikon coolpix 5800, I normally only bring each animal outside for about 10 minutes, shoot 30 or so shots and bring them back in. Lighting is most important followed by composition, don't be afraid to get eye level with the snakes even if it means laying in the grass.. your shots will be worth it!

that animal is the rarest of all herps... the highly endangered "Normal"
