Heat tape for rack

Hey all.

I've just completed a rack, but had some final questions about the heat tape. It holds 8 of the Rubbermaid 44 gallon (23.5x16.75x9) tubs, and I wanted to weave it through the shelves so as to be able to control the heat with one thermostat and to limit the number of connections needed. My question is, what width should I use? I know that 11" is too big, but I was wondering if 4" would be enough, or should I aim for 6-8"? The rack is designed to hold mostly boas, if that helps. Any and all input is greatly appreciated.

4" is fine. There is no 6-8" heat tape... only 3", 4", 11", and 25".

They make a 6 inch element but it is a custom job.. Minium woudl be 100 feet. 11" will be plenaty but the 4" will work as well. Also if you worried about the power(heat) output of the 4" then you can use 3" and use 10 watt...
