Unhappy Egg bound female ?? I think..

Hey,,

Not too good of a day today .. i found one of my female savanahs dead.. she has been for a good 4 hours or so .. She had been bredd too and ovulated at least 2 weks ago .. so i decided to open her up and found 12 eggs in her .. they are nice and white and except one is a bit brown ..

I found the egss ALL OVER the body.. the only thing that seem abnormal to me was a discoloration of the liver and one erea of it .. a brown .. like betadine colour..

I imagine she died because my husbandry was not adequate .. or something. She probably could not find a place to lay.. If any one can help to clarafy this for me it would be really helpfull. Thanks..

Also - is there a chance that these eggs could still be good?If so should i do anything special to them since they were in her cold body for a few hours?

I can't beleive it .. Finally for the first tiem i got one of my animals to produce and it had to be at the cost of the mother.. This is not a good day...

Tx again

dom, id start incubating the eggs anyways.
its possible 1 egg out of the bunch may be viable, its worth a shot.
good luck

I'm sorry to hear that you lost your female Dom, It happens to all of us. Get the eggs in an incubator anyway, they're tough and you just might save a couple. Certainly no harm in trying. I have always followed the rule of thumb, "don't trash an egg until it's green and stinking, and even then give it a couple more days." Good luck with them and don't let the loss get you down.
