Somthing weird is going on here...
This is my normal female afrock a couple weeks ago, before she went into shed.
She's pretty, but nothing really remarkable. This is her this morning after she shed.

Is that the female of the 1.1 pair you have for sale?
If so, i wouldn't be selling her Kev, she's crazy as hell...

What does she have for heat? I'm guessing red light bulbs...true?
I had the same happening to a burm. At first i thought she was mutating or something. But it was the strong heat burning the colour away.
But, of course, it doesn't really have to be the same situation here. Maybe it's something else.

No, not red light bulbs at all. Just regular bulbs. For most of my snakes I don't even use those.

Here's a shot of her axanthicish looking sides...
I spoke with the breeder I got her from yesturday. He didn't produce her and can't remember if he got her from another breeder, or if she was on of the afrocks he bought from an importer. So there very well could be something strange going on here. Time will tell I guess. All I know is she's that weirdest damn afrock I've ever seen. It would be nice if it turned out to be something. It might invigorate the market in afrocks. They're great animals, not worthy of their reputation, and I really enjoy working with them.

I discussed this with many breeders when I had it happen to my ball python. Everyone I talked to said that they've seen it happen in burms, but they always change back after a few sheds. Of course, my ball python has been that way for two years now without changing back.

I just talked to someone over on another board about this afrock you were describing. I remember your post about him. I'm hoping he can get me some pics. If it looks promising we should try to get these 2 together.
