Ball python Fasting

I read somewhere that ball pythons tend to fast during the winter months. Is this true?

Yup. Many go off feed at that time. As long as they don't lose weight, it doesn't harm them any.

Oh yeah. If they're healthy going into the fast, they can and will lose weight without any ill effects. My breeder amle albino hasn't eaten since Dec. 31, 2004, and he's lost some 60 grams and is as healthy as a horse.
