White sided African Rock python???

Hello all

The male that bred my female rock is slowly but very defenetly developing a lack of pigmentation on each side of his body and has full pigmentation on the top .

Basically, he has a dorsal stripe about an inch wide like a normal african rock python coloration and each sides lack almost all black pigmentation and lots of the brown pigmentation ..

What is going on??? He looked normal when he was younger and is getting whiter and whiter with every single shed?? It is very simillar to the white sided bull snake morph (although there born looking like so) ...

Is there any other morphs out there that work out like so?

I have heard a few different possible explanations .. let me know what you think .. I heard that maybe a bacterial infection could do this or that the calico morphs in Retics seem to work the same way .. (I dunno how that morph works) ..

Anyway .. Can anyone shed some light on my problem ..

YES .. I will post pics of him very soon .. I am trying to get a digital camera..

I have had lots of bad luck with the eggs due to excessive heat in my house and no air conditioner but i still have a few viable eggs in the incubator and are quite curious to see what comes out of em ..

Tx

I'm really interested in seeing a pic of him. Hard to tell what's going on. The only thing that comes to mind is IMG (increased melanine gene), as far as I know it has only shown up in ball pythons. Can't wait to see it.

I may be wrong but is that not how the calico gene works in retic's? They are born normal and in time it turns calico. That was just the first thing that came to mind when I read your post.
