I am pretty sure they do not eat crickets, perfer small snakes, lizards and worms. I am also pretty sure that some of them will switch to rodents. Try asking HerperHelmz, he has a bunch of ringnecks.

Country:
The Northerns get from 10" long as adults, to 24". It depends on locality, sex and prey availability. The Regals, depending on locality, get from 13" to 30". The TX specimens, which are basically intergrades only get to a maximum of 17". The AZ, CA and NM specimens will easily top 30" in length. The record size for regals is 42" long.

Regals and Northerns are completely opposite in size....

Regals eat only snakes and lizards... though plenty of them have been switch to unscented rodents, including hatchlings.

Northerns eat worms, salamanders, snakes, frogs, fish, but it all depends on the type of habitat you find it in. Most WC will take salamanders right away. And usually only the adult females will take snakes.

There is plenty more info at my website...
