Wink Field Herping Companions

This is a little strange, but, does anyone have a dog or something that goes herping with them?

We have an outside cat that was a stray at the old house we lived at. So we brought her with us to this house. And every single time my son and I go herping, she comes. Wherever we walk, she comes. We walk through a field, marshy land, she goes. She might take a few minutes to catch up, but she's with us. It's strange, she's one loyal cat. We've caught snakes and worried about her and the snakes while photographing them. She doesn't touch them.

A couple weeks ago we went herping. And my wife came home, and picked us up on the way. So we took the ride, and never thought about the cat. So 4 hours later (around 10PM, so it was dark) we drove back home from taking our son to work. We seen some glowing eyes in the middle of the road. I said "It's Babe",
My wife said "why would she be here". So I figured because we never walked home, she assumed we were still at the marsh. And waited for us to leave. She hates cars, so we got out of the car and walked her home. It's kind of cool the things she does.

So anyways, enough rambling. So, does anyone have something similar?

Thanks,
Shane
