Ball Python v Jungle Carpet Python

What would you think the pro's and con's are of these two snakes?

I am still deciding whether my JCP is for me. I don't like the fact that I am not at ease when handling and for that reason don't handle often. I have received a few bites although not painful I don't want a 2m biting snake later on. So I'm trying to decide whether I should sell her and buy a pair of Balls.

I personally prefer Ball Pythons. JCPs can be really nippy, but I like the look of them. Ball Pythons are generally more docile. I have three, I'm corr's daughter.

Well, JCPs are beautiful, more active and better "to look at" snakes than Ball Pythons. I personally would say they are better to handle too (that’s for the snakes sake not yours).
They are also generally good eaters.

Ball Pythons are also beautiful, but you can never really put them on display. They are secretive, shy animals that get stressed easily with too much handling. That’s not to say you can't and some balls are fine. Ball Pythons also have a huge colour/pattern selection if that’s your thing. Unfortunately some ball pythons can be picky, pain in the butt eaters. Some are fantastic but they are a lot more finicky that others.

SO, it depends on what you want. If you want a snake you can have on display, comes in many many wonderful colours and you can handle a lot, who eats pretty reliably, I honestly would say Colubrids are your calling.

I guess the bottom line is what you expect your snake to be for you. Good luck and let us know what you decide , there is such a huge variety of snakes out there I am sure you can find one that is a perfect match to your needs.
