Panther Emergency

So I rescued a baby rainbow panther, and well he aint doin so well to say the least. He apparently has not opened his eyes in 2 days he fed just previous and then shut one eye, the second day shut the second eye he is listless and looks generally unwell, his eyes are beggining to sink in, i would really like to save his little life, he still changes colours and has a weakening grip. Anyways needless to say i need help fast guys let me know what i can do or try.

Get some HerpCare: Electrolyte and Appetite Stimulant, give it to him accordingly to instructions. Keep him mysted so he can absorb whatever water he can into any part of his body, however minimal it is, keep him warm but not too hot, 85F would be good basking spot, you don't want him to gape while he's hot and lose moisture, try not to force feed him or give him water (or the appetite stimulant) directly into his mouth, as I believe the anatomy of chameleons is something of the sort that they will get water in their lungs if they get water on the bottom of their mouth, something like that.

I don't know what else to say, keep him in a cage that isn't too tall so if he falls he wont hurt himself too much, try and get his eyes open, a chameleon guru once told me 'Brock, usually when a chameleon has a problem with his eye(s), that means he's done for.'

If his eyes are sunken, try putting him in the shower on a plant and aim the shower above the plant so the mist falls onto him. Do this for about 15 - 20 minutes. This will help rehydrate him.

If he's still a baby, you could also just spray him with a hand sprayer. A weak baby might not be able to take the pressure from a shower, though adults seem to love it.
Sunken and closed eyes are usually the first sign of dehydration, though it can be from various reasons with improper care. The big problem with chams seems to be hydration, so that would be the first place to start.

Well folks, thanks for all the help, my fingers are still crossed and i continue to project good vibes towards him along with the treatment, i dont want to jinx anything but he seems to be pulling through this morning one eye was open and he seems a bit more lively, no appetite though, it seems this is the third day since he has eaten, can i heat a panther? i know with a lot of chams heat is not that good. also how would is stimulate him to eat? and how long can he go without food? oh yeah he also pooped last night which i see as a good sign too, any animal that is pooping is probably on the road to recovery.

You don't mention how you have the chameleon set up. What temperature is its basking area? The background temperature? UV light? Babies have small bodies and can dehydrate and overheat quicker than adults can....so you have to make sure that they can get away from the basking area and cool off.

You don't mention if its drinking or not. I always mist babies and try to make sure that there are no big drops of water forming that they could aspirate into their lungs.

It is drinkin, i believe it had UV where it was and i will get it some UV where I am but Canada Day got in the way, no eating, and being misted like 4 times a day, it is drinking im using a 1:1 gatorade to water mix to boost up the electrolytes.

Get some silk worms for him. They are a little pricey, but they will fatten him up quickly. They are nutrient rich and a healthy food. Also easy to catch, so if there really is an eye problem with him it won't be too hard for him to find.

He is drinking which is a good thing, dehydration is a big problem with captive chameleons.

Thank You all for all your help, but sadly the little panther went to the big tree branch in the sky early this afternoon, i did what i could but he just was not strong enough to fight it.

Aww poor little bum, Its hard with babies not much you can do once they are at a cirtain point, I just lost a baby Honelli and my female carpet, it always sucks and its overly sad when its a little bum. Sounds like you tryed you best.
