Angry Hatred froma a Hognose.....

SO about a 2 months ago my darling 2 year old red phase male became VERY aggressive...... He even hoods, strikes and hisses at his neighbor (future mate) whos is six inches away and through two rubbermaid layers...... WHY THE SUDDEN CHANGE... I noticed it when I came home from college (snakes stayed at home) he used to be very liberal, he would eat infront of me, only hissed when I first oppend the cage and was cool from then on, but now he is only happy when no one is in the room and the lights are off, whats the deal, anyone have an idea???

My female was like that for a few weeks, then went back to her normal self. In her case, I think it started when I moved her to a bigger enclosure. Was there some big change in his life that might have him on edge?

maybe it was from not being handled unless some one did while you were gone. i never handled mine much but after having so many animals no one ever got neglected but hanlded less, he seemed to get alot more hissy and would hood sometimes too. but never struck and was fine after i got him out and held him.
