You Guy Keep These Things!
Hey,
JW were do you guys get them? Do you need a licence to own them? Dont you need a farm for them.....LOL. Can you tame them? If so do you hold them? Last but not least......do you have pics of these wonderful things?

You need licenses in some states I belive.....a farm no.....a large custom built cage yes. Tame is such a narow word.....maybe handleable? But not tame no.
I dont have pictures of my old Caimen...but I am probably purchasing one off of Lrplts

crocodilians is also a huge family, many of them being way too rare for the pet trade. also many of them being HUGE. for the really big guys people usually make them big ponds. and most of these guys you wouldnt want to try and kiss on the lips unless you want to be food. there are many caimans and dwarf crocs that reach sizes around 3-6 feet which are much more handleable than lets say an american aligator. they still require a rather large place to live but you can keep them easily indoors. even for these guys its not easy to tame them. i think iv only heard of about 3 or 4 tame aligators. im sure there are more and probably some caimans but handling them every day doesnt mean squat. its up to you being lucky and geting a one of a kind animal.

I would one day like to buy a dwarf caimans what would you need for space? Were would you get one of them?

Dwarf Caimens are pretty readily available...usually about 250 US. Space wise I'd want something 8'x4'x2' for one of mine...but thats just off the top of my head that might not even be large enough. They are pretty aggressivle little guys though I can tell you that much...

i also have a pet store near me that sells baby american alligators for $100-$200(i dont know the exact price) and i think its terrible. anybody could easily go in there and buy one without having any knowledge about the animal.

I've seen alligators for as cheap as $40-50 USD on some classifieds, and they aren't that uncommon, too bad they get soo big and almost everyone that gets one usually ends up trying to sell it later on, I want to get a gator or dwarf caimen later in life but not until I am 100% sure I have the room and the money to feed it. I've seen them in canada for $200-500 CD. The only thing is the animal is the only cheap thing about keeping a crocodillian.
