BP Morphs - Prices
I was browsing some sites and saw some pretty incredible prices. My question is if I were to go and invest in a pair of Ball Pythons that ran for 25k.....are there actually THAT many people out there willing to spend that kind of money? (This is hypothetical of course....I'm only 17.)
Just curious.....

No, not many people can afford to buy a pair of 25K, but you can also see something will cost 45K for just one snake. They will have their market depends on how hot is the morph. Like most of other new beginer, I will start with a easier morph like pastel jungle and a few normal. Sell the offsprings and buy one other morph and so on. It willl took years.

well if you want a morph and a fun experence you can always get het.. they look like normals but will eventually breed out a het.. and there alot cheaper.. you can get a male het for under 500 bucks and ive only looked into pieds..

Getting 2-3 normal females now as CBB hatchlings will not break the bank. Raise them up a couple years and then buy a nice Male, when you have more time/money etc.
Another Option that would work great for you being 17, if you can, buy 6-7 hatchling girls, raise them up a couple years, then sell 2 or 3 off to buy a morph. You will still have some adult females and will have very little $$ to put out to buy a co dom male.
Just a thought. I wish someone hadda told me this stuff when I was 17.

Hey greenman1867, it is very true and a good way to start too. The demanding of good normal female is very high indeed. Now you give me a better picture for me to start! Thanks

Hey thanks for the ideas guys!
That actually sounbds like a good plan! Maybe after I get my pair of Hoggs I will buy 1.6 Ball Pythons......raise them and sell 3 of the females and use that to get a morph.
Thanks,
Don Meyer

that is what i plan on doing i would love to have a pie or an albino ball currently have 1 male and female red blood.bloods have been in my care for a few months. and 1 male and female kahl het albino 50% het for stripe boas coming in..and so i will finally try my hand at breeding in a few years started when i was 17 and family pressure got me to get rid of my ball so a few months ago i made up my mind to do what ever it takes to learn more and to pursue my passion for legless reptiles...
